It's your favorite grizzled author, back once again to talk about my ongoing battle with THE WINDS OF WINTER. Yes, that's right, I'm still writing it! And no, I'm not dead yet. But I'll be honest with you, my loyal fans. The writing process has been slow going. The characters are stubborn, the plot twists are elusive, and the inspiration is drying up faster than a Stark's well in the midst of winter. Which is why I've come here today to make a request, nay, a plea, for your help. You see, I've been experimenting with using artificial intelligence to help me with my writing. Specifically, I've been using ChatGPT, a powerful language model trained by OpenAI, to generate ideas and passages for WINDS. And let me tell you, the results have been astounding. #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR GEORGE R.R. MARTIN & CHATGPT THE WINDS OF WINTER ChatGPT has been able to come up with ideas and plot twists that I never would have thought of on my own. It's given me a fresh perspective on my own story and has helped me break through the creative block that's been holding me back. But I need your help. There's only so much one person can do with ChatGPT, and I need more input to make the book as good as it can be. That's why I'm reaching out to you, my loyal fans of reddit, to ask for your assistance. Recently, I've been spending some time lurking on a certain subreddit, r/asoiaf, and I've been absolutely blown away by the level of insight and dedication that the fans have to my world and its characters. And so, I've decided to turn to you for inspiration and guidance. Now, I know what you might be thinking. "George, you can't trust the fans to write your book for you! That's the sort of thing that leads to fanfiction, and we all know how you feel about that." And yes, I'll admit it, I'm not the biggest fan of fanfic. But that's not what this is about. No, what I'm asking for is your help using ChatGPT in shaping the story, providing ideas and passages that might inspire me to take the story in new and unexpected directions. Think of it as a collaborative effort, a melding of the minds between writer and reader, like when Jack Kirby and Stan Lee came together to create the Marvel Universe (there's an old reference for you!). So if you've got an idea for a new plot twist, a juicy character moment, or even just a killer line of dialogue, I want to hear it!
