My old PC lasted me a good decade before I felt it was time to retire the ol' thing and move on to something new. I mean my old PC still works, it's just at a point where it was less expensive to just go with something entirely new rather than upgrade literally every component inside my old one. My old PC has an AMD FX 6120 six core from a decade ago, a 1TB HDD (and the lack of an SSD was helping show its age as the PC would take about 5 or 10 minutes to reach fully booted status) and an HP motherboard (the old PC is an HP brand that was bought by my father from Best Buy when I was still in college, as the Windows XP computer I had all of high school and most of college finally crapped out in 2012), but the RAM and GPU were upgraded over the years (with the RAM going up from 10 to 16, and yes I know the 10 was a weird amount but it's what it came with, and the GPU was first upgraded to a GTX 660 back in 2013 and then a GTX 1660 Ti in 2019 when my only source of income at the time was helping care for my now-deceased grandfather).

The new PC is a "semi-pre-built" I got from iBUYPOWER last year (meaning they built it for me but I did get to select my parts), mainly because I still lack the confidence to feel like I can properly build my own, even with YouTube tutorials. RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Ryzen 7 series, MSI motherboard, and in addition to a 4TB HDD it has a 1TB M.2 SSD so this new PC boots extremely fast.
