Super Mario 64 contains an unused "Mario Death Field" object, shown as the tall cylinder in the footage. It always floats in front of Mario and acts like an explosion on the enemies it touches, allowing Mario to kill them from a distance.

In 64 DS, Pokeys can survive without their heads. If Yoshi eats a Pokey's head and then lands on a Fly Guy, the Pokey will not die despite its head being severed from its body. The Pokey will continue living as long as Yoshi keeps jumping.

In the Secret Aquarium, whenever Mario stops swimming, the fish start swirling in circles above him, creating a kind of "fish tornado". This happens slightly out of view of the regular camera, requiring the "stop" camera setting to see.
