She is kept at a distance from Mario during this, masking the fact that she is actually much larger than usual. Size during regular gameplay Size during Bowser battle Possible technical explanation: the boss arena was supposed to be smaller earlier in development, and instead of resizing each object separately, they were all resized together, which included Peach. Possible in-universe explanation: Bowser often uses magic to enlarge himself for boss battles. Whatever magic he used could have also affected Peach.
