GT was a hot mess but it did a few things right:

The idea that Dragon Balls should be used less often or let them rest for a while after a major wish, puts more weight into Elder Kai's warnings and balance things out.

Aliens doing shit and knowing/remembering Saiyans.

The idea of a Tuffle avenger was neat on paper. Could even have chalked the heart virus as his first earnest attempt, a la FOXDIE.

Uub's potential as the a natural born and unmodified human punching on Goku's weight class. (Humans now got a very powerful soul on their Samsara cycle and a champion of Earth will be born every few generations)

And most importantly, Super Saiyan 4 was dope as fuck.
