I don't play COD much anymore, but I found it more enjoyable when I muted every player on both teams. However, I always end up rage quitting at some point when the game mechanics prove to unreasonable to deal with (i.e. every player except for me or a few others exploiting the same weapons and attachments and camoflauges)
