according to the “United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime: Homicides by firearm statistics 2011”, the United Kingdom had the 2nd lowest homicide rate in Europe (shown in Fig. 1.8 on page 24).

the “Homicide by firearm rate per 100,000 people” according to The Guardian newspaper states that 0.07 in 100,000 gun owners commit a gun related homicide, compared to 2.97 per 100,000 in the USA and 68.43 per 100,000 in Honduras (“Gun homicides and gun ownership listed by country” by Simon Rogers)

according to the Firearm crime statistics released by the house of commons, 0.3% of all crimes during 2010/2011 involved guns of any kind, with a 13-24% decrease in gun related crime across England, Wales and Scotland. (section 3, page 5)

tl;dr – England, and the UK as a whole isn't free from gun crime, but don't be a dick and give completely wrong information
