It is the night after the Apple Family Reunion. Everyone was able to attend; except for two…Applejack decides that night to take a trip deep into the outskirts of Apple Acres; the only place where she could visit them now.
However, when she arrives, she finds them waiting for her…as ghosts, as young as they were when they…passed.
She runs over to the tombstones placed in front of the 2 dead apple trees and reaches out to hug both of her parents, only to pass through them. Applejack sets her hat onto the ground sits in from of them, stunned and in tears, as her parents looked back at her and smiled.
"Ya’ve made us both very proud Applejack" Her father, Apple Cider, says to her.
"Ya’ve been so strong for Big Mac, Applebloom, and Granny Smith" Apple Blossom, her mother says.
Applejack breaks down and sobs harder as the rain starts to fall. "Ah thought about ya both today…about how much Ah wish ya both could've be there with us…Ah wish ya could always be with us again…"
Her father frowned slightly. "Applejack, ya need to let us go. Ya made us more than proud…but ya can't live everyday regretting that we aren't there with ya."
"Don't worry about the things ya can't change; that includes us.” Her mother says with a smile. “Instead, prepare for the good times to be had in the future rather than dwelling on the past."
Applejack wipes away a tear. "Ah’m so sorry…"
Both her parents smiled.
Her mother says "Ya don't need to be sorry sugarcube. Ya need to do just one thing for us; live strong and live happily."
Applejack smiles this time. "Ah will…Ah…love ya both"
Her parents looked back at her.
Her father says "We both love ya more than anything Applejack, ya’ve made us proud…"
Her mother then says "…and ya’ve made the Apple Family proud."
After that, both her parents slowly vanish into the mist, Applejack wipes away her tears, and then goes back to the farm to start a new life for herself, a life focused towards a better future, rather than an irreparable past.
