I almost get offended when I get caught using metric terms in front of my US relatives and they tell me to use "Standard"

Metric IS the standard!

They never taught me the imperial system in NZ schools. They can't expect me to just switch

I'm American, but I actually prefer metric. It scales up evenly, 1000 meters is 1 kilometer, 1000 grams is a kilogram, 1000 monkeys in a kilomonkey (1 of these is not real).
