SOYOU WANT TO START PLAYNG MUST-PLAY TITLES Wii GY A good starting point for newcomers to the series, Zero Mission isa short-but-sweet remake of the original Metroid The definitive Metroid title Super Metroid is the game that all other Metroid games have drawn from, and is widely considered to be the pinnacle of the series A spectacular transition of classic Metroid gameplay to the 3D plane, Metroid Prime is an atmospheric, lore-filled adventure that's very different from a standard FPS Metroid Prime Trilogy collects all three Prime games into a single package, and improves their controls. Though copies are rare and expensive, it's probably the best way to play the Primes. RECOMMENDED TITLES Wii ETRO METROH ETRU EC COREUPTION Metroid Fusion takes the series in a somewhat different direction, and isa more linear, action-oriented title. Still, it's a fan favorite, and an excellent game. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is a darker, harder twist on Metroid Prime's gameplay Though some were put off by its heavier backtracking, others consider it to be the best in the Prime series With a higher focus on action and scripted sequences, Metroid Prime 3 Corruption is a faster-paced conclusion to the Prime trilogy. Despite its more linear design, it still delivers the atmosphere and environmental design of the previous two OPTIONAL TITLES METROD HUNTERS METROID METROID Though it created the series, time hasn't been kind to Metroid. If you're into unforgiving NES games with truly isolating atmosphere, Metroid might be for you- if not, feel free to skip it. Much like its predecessor, Metroid Il shows its age; the hardware limits of the Gameboy left it with a grayscale palette and a soundtrack of harsh beeps. If you can look past that, however, you might find it to be an underappreciated gem Metroid Prime Hunters was created with a strong emphasis on multiplayer deathmatch gameplay, and minimal emphasis on its lacklustre singleplayer mode Unfortunately, the multiplayer fell host to hackers, leaving the game defunct. Metroid Prime Pinball is a pinball game Wii Other M With the gameplay of a watered-down God of War clone, and the storyline of a Mexican soap opera, Metroid: Other M is an all-around disappointment. If you're truly bent on playing it, buy it cheap, and be prepared to see Metroid at its worst.
