"Nui survived, though with an unexpected change to her plan.  No, she won't kill them just yet.

Capturing the Mankanshokus was an easy task.  While the doctor took his son and dog to do some home visits, Nui quickly captured Mako and her mother.  The fibers she wove were as tough as steel and would repair itself, yet despite how tight she bound them, it would remain as smooth as silk and would contract with a touch.   This was just a sample of the fibers she could produce from her new body.

But no, Nui decided, these two won't just become dolls.  With their arms bound and tighten under a corset-like layer, it was not like they could escape anyway.  After the fibers play with their bodies and drain some of their energy, Nui had other plans for them..."
