We can see a perfect example of what journalists should be doing: The Escapist.
They were part of the problem early on in this movement, but they allowed discussion to take place and ultimately changed their ethics policies. Since then, they've largely been left alone, and haven't been caught up in any of the vitriolic bullshit that the rest of the journalism industry has been spewing.
While sites like Gamasutra and Gawker lose advertisers in droves, Escapist carries on no worse for wear.
Natural Selection in action. The self-destructive sites will die, while decent sites like The Escapist will grow stronger and survive.
