Considered by some people to be the point when the show jumped the shark though, as it was after this that Seth McFarlane turned Brian into a strawman atheist with a big ego (yeah they have toned it down considerably since then, and some recent episodes have other characters telling Brian to shut up whenever heβs about to act really pretentious, but this episode is the one some fans consider to be where FG began dwindling in quality).
The original scene also didn't deal with feminism. Meg had turned into a radical Christian after watching some evangelical TV while sick and during episode she did things like cause the town to ostracize Brian because he's an atheist in a dominantly Christian community, and then at the end was part of a book burning (where the books being burned were ones considered "evil" by radical Christian standards).
