So. I heard about this lady called 'Anita Sarkeesian'. Apparently she runs a Youtube series called 'Feminist Frequency Sh really hates it when video gamers don't do what she tells them to do. So much so that sh老says people tweeting #GamerGate are a harassment campaign; specifically directed at her. As evidence of her claims she provided 157 tweets gathered between the 20th and 25th of Jan 2015 to Gawkers "Sam Biddle, who's call to bully people lost his employers a 'seven figure sum' last year. Being the sucker he is, he put all of those tweets on display. With such startling evidence on display, it is fairly clear that yes, Anita Sarkeesian does receive some harassment. In addition it is possible to whittle down th tweets into subcategories and identify what type of harassment she receives: Type wWishes of 3rd Party R--- Calegory Violence Death Wishas Suicide Reqt I hear you cry: This is awful! How could #GamerGate send all of these HORRIBLE tweets! well there is just one problem; out of these homble tweets only 3 of the tweets are labeled #GamerGate Cabegory Non-86amergale Tagged Category Non-lGamergale Tagged FGamerGate How can this be! Are you even trying? Random people from the internet are doing a far better job at harassing Anita Sarkeesian than you are! There's second problem with this picture #GarmerGate has HUGE number of participants who send a HUGE number of tweets. Between the time period. #GamerGate tagged 133,015 tweets ! That's right 1000x the number of tweets which worry Feminist Frequency! So that means that a #GamerGate tweet has a 0.002% chance of being a "harassment of AS tweet. Lets visualis. that eh? Once Again, GamerGate are you even trying to harass Anita Sarkessian? Don't you know how horrible you are? I guess not. 0.00 guess you d n't know how horrible you are BECAUSE IT IS COMPLETE B------- The problem here is not that Anita Sarkeesian is the victim of a co-ordinated Harassment campaign. The problem here is that Anita Sarkeesian is so risk averse that even the slightest criticism (which is almost impossible to visualise) so damages her fragile ego and helps her play victim that she perceives th risk of each #GamerGate tweet as being an affront to her majesty. X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
