Celestia's attitude does seem fitting though. Being centuries old, you've been around the block a few times and know how to handle things. And what's the worst that could've happened? Not like Smoozie was an evil creature or anything, just made everything sticky. (Unlike a certain centaur-monkeyface that she did nothing to stop…)

And it's always fun to see how the princesses act in different ways. Celestia is playful and kind, Luna's much more serious and reserved, and Cadence is somewhere in between. And Twilight will probably start shedding before she reaches her thirties.
