While this might have a point, I don't know if it's a good comparision, simply because I think Germany went a few steps too far by making the swastika completly illegal.

This is against the idea of freedom of opinion imo and ppl could use the same argument to defend the flag even tho this freedom doesn't protect from critizism.

I feel like this is a bad argument (Also Godwin's Law), the Wehrmacht divisions (Heer, Luftwaffe, Kreigsmarine) didn't use the Nazi swastika as their symbol, they used the Balkenkreuz and Iron Cross.

A soldier would never wear a Nazi swastika armband unless for something like a propaganda film / military parade (But it was painted onto planes and tanks). The swastika was mainly an SS Officer / political figure thing to wear.
