grid-profiteer grid-profiteer Man Sends 2000 Bottlecaps to Bethesda in an Attempt to Preorder Fallout 4 Update: they're sending him the game come November! Just in case you were planning on putting together a box full of bottlecaps for this did say also that it was because he was the first person to think of it and that they won't be accepting bottlecaps as currency in the future. A 12 pack of soda water in glass bottles costs $26, assuming a similar price for all of the drinks this man must have consumed, and also assuming he didn't scavenge for bottlecaps, it would have cost him $-4333 before considering things like redemption value and/or sales tax. Bit of a stupid thing to do on a whim to preorder a $60 game. He said, and I would believe, that he had been collecting them

According to this link a single bottlecap weights 0.004lb, so 2000 bottlecaps weight ~8lb

And according to this other site tin as scrap is worth ~$6.70/lb

So this man sent ~$53.60 in bottlecaps for a $60 game. You would need to send 9-10lb so that the scrap value of the bottlecaps reaches the cost of the game.

Bethesda should actually accept this on a regular basis and make a recycling drive
