Youtube…
Youtube has changed…
It's no longer about gaming, skits or animation. It's an endless series of reaction videos recorded by youtubers and celebs. Youtube, and its consumption of drama, has become a well-oiled machine. Youtube has changed. ID tagged users carry ID tagged memes, use ID tagged videos. Games inside their libraries enhance and regulate their videos. Content control. Video control. Emotion control. Drama control. Everything is monitored, and kept under control. Youtube has changed. The age of quality control has become the age of spam. All in the name of averting catastrophe from users and censoring. And he who controls the youtube, controls the internet. Youtube has changed. When the internet is under total control, drama… becomes routine.
What Markiplier described what youtube is like is very much what a commission sales job is like. It can get toxic, your fellow coworkers can do dirty stuff to take sales from you and make the retail environment uncomfortable and unfun for customers. I currently make my living in that type of environment and it constantly compromises my mental health. In short a toxic community on youtube is going to reward no one.
