I missed the days when Command and Conquer was a decent game…unlike Tiberian Twilight.

I once grow up with their F1 games, most of the time when I switch my GT2 for F1 `99 from my neighbor. And it's only recently I fell for their Wipeout series a year after they shut down.

When I first read the title, I took it literally and thought of why the lucky stiff, but then I read the post and realized he was actually talking about game studios, so my vote is 3DO. This is probably nostalgia talking but I don't give a shit what the critics say; Sarge's Heroes is a really fun game.

I don't even care if the company's still around. I'm counting it because it's not even a company anymore, it's just a tool Microsoft uses to make cheap motion sensor-based games.

LucasArts man, Outlaws and Dark Forces 2 were my childhood, not to mention that I was excited about SW:1313.

RIP in peace. You made such a successful franchise, Microsoft just had to run it into the ground as fast as possible.

These were the guys who made prototype, and dammit, I need my Prototype 3.

The 3rd Millennium and Tiberian Sun are 2 of the best games I've ever had the honor to play. So long my friends, and thank you for the memories.

As many others have said, Ensemble Studios & Pandemic. Bless the men & women who graced us with games like Battlefront & Age of Empires.

I also second Rare, as they might as well be dead at this point. I still can't fathom how Microsoft managed to fuck everything up so badly with them.
