About
Bisexual Lemon Bars refers to a meme circulating through Reddit's r/bisexual community. The meme is a parody of various other welcoming phrases involving the transfer of baked goods, such as Come to the Dark Side; We have Cookies or this poster from South Park. Lemon bars, as a result, have been the subject of memes on multiple communities oriented towards bisexual people and have been used to welcome new members to the community, using the pharse "Welcome to the Bi Side! Have a lemon bar!"
Origin
Although the exact date in which the meme was created is unknown, the creator is confirmed to be Reddit user u/Tuxedo-T-Shirt, likely around May 19th, 2018. This comment was published on that date explaining the meme:
"It doesn't really mean anything. I just saw a bunch of t-shirts and memes about the Dark Side (Star Wars) having cookies. And then I realized it's kind of a gag to offer treats to new people. So, I thought if the Dark Side gets cookies, and the terrence and philip (South Park Movie) resistance gets punch and pie, the bi side has lemon bars, because no one else had suggested any other baked goods for newcomers, and I love lemon bars."
