This meme originated when an androgynous (supposedly) female singer, Li Yuchun (李宇春), won a contest for female singers, despite lacking feminine characteristics.
Chinese netizens have since then associated the singer with extreme manliness, gave him the nickname Brother Chun (春哥), with slogans such as "春哥纯爷们， 铁血真汉子."
It is taboo to even suggest that Brother Chun is not the manliest, most powerful being in the universe (several photoshops actually portrays him as god).
His name is frequently used in Chinese fora such as Baidu, Tianya, and mop, in the same way Chuck Norris is.
