About

Hentai Woody (変態ウッディー), also known as “Creepy Woody”, is a series of photos featuring a Revoltech Woody action figure posed in erotic, creepy and perverted scenarios.

Origin

In 2006, Japanese toy company Kaiyodo released their Revoltech line of collector-oriented toys that consisted mainly of Anime figures. In 2010, Kaiyodo broadened their variety of toys with a new subline called the Sci-Fi (Tokusatsu) Revoltech series. This line focused on iconic characters from Japanese and American film and television series like Mothra, Gamera, the Alien, Jack Skellington and Batman. In March of 2010, Kaiyodo unveiled prototypes for Buzz Lightyear and Sheriff Woody from the Toy Story movies. Like most Revoltech toys, the Woody figures had an alternate faceplate to choose from:

The grinning expression has been compared to a trollface or rape face on 4chan’s /toy/ board, where it was used as a reaction image prior to the toy’s release. It is believed to have been inspired by a scene from Toy Story where Woody fools Buzz into thinking something is behind him (:55 seconds in):

Spread

The toy was released for sale in July of 2010, and photos of Woody performing various depraved acts, often to other toys, began popping up on 2chan’s^[3] /toy/ board as early as August 11th that year. The photos eventually spread to 4chan’s^[4] /a/ (anime), /b/ (random), and /v/ (videogame) boards as well. The action figure made its way to western countries through import sites like Amiami.^[1]

On October 25, 2010, a fan group was made on deviantART called Hail-To-Crazy-Woody^[2], where people can share their own photos of their Revoltech Woody figure.
