Party Cat is a popular reaction image used to express an eagerness towards a subject. While the name of the meme is "Party Cat", edits of the image are not necessarily feline in nature. There are also several edits of the original comic.
Origin
In 2009, Anthony Clark, creator of "Nedroid Picture Diary"[1] and color artist for "The Adventures of Dr. McNinja"[2], created a short comic series about a cat who liked to party a bit too much.[3]
Spread
Party Cat was first used as a reaction image on 4chan's cartoon and comics board, /co/, shortly after the first comic was posted online. This is not surprising considering the popularity that Nedroid previously held.
Party Cat eventually spread through tumblr via indie art and comic blogs.
