“Snape Kills Dumbledore” began sometime in mid-July of 2005. Around then, the 6th Harry Potter book (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) was being released and it was mentioned that one of the main characters would not survive. When it was revealed it was Dumbledore, it quickly spread across the internet. It was primarily featured ytmnd.com with many variations.

A video soon emerged of a person crashing Harry Potter release parties outside of several bookstores. This fueled the meme’s explosive growth and the dialogue was used for various other sites.

The spoiler “Snape kills Dumbledore” was also depicted using various TV clips, video game FMVs, and movie clips.

The page 606 fad involved altering the page where the spoiler was mentioned (page 606 of "Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince). Various other fads would be shown in the form of the writing seen on page 606. The music of choice was Baltimora’s “Tarzan Boy”.

I enjoyed that scene, cause I thought, “J.K Rowling is going to give a great reason now to believe Snape isn’t evil and actually saved some people!” And she kinda did.
But I can’t wait to see the movie, and laugh my head off at the stupidity of that scene.

Maybe forced spoilers could be a meme.

And I think I saw this inserted into a pirated version of a movie once. But we definitely need links to the events mentioned in the entry.

This is most likely a meme, have seen this many times before. More in the loud form of, “DUMBLEDORE DIES LOL”.

People did the exact same thing at the release of the empire strikes back. People were yelling stuff like, “LUKE IS VADER’S SON!”, and VADER IS LUKE’S FATHER!
