The earliest gif found is from the film Mission Impossible III released in 2006, the long take of Tom Cruise Running. The gif was made by an anonymous user in the site MakeAGIF which was uploaded in 2007.^[1]

Tom Cruise Running has a Tumblr site dedicated to every film of Tom Cruise and separates the ones that includes him running and the one of him not.The site is created by Paul T Layland. On December 20, 2013 Paul uploaded a Youtube video titled Tom Cruise Running | 2013 | The Definitive Supercut in which he includes in the Tumblr site.^[2]
