Not Tom Cruise is the nickname impersonator Evan Ferrante, who is best known for posting impersonations of actor Tom Cruise on YouTube since launching his channel in 2006.
History
On November 19th, 2006, Ferrante uploaded a video titled "Tom Cruise Impersonation" to YouTube, featuring a montage of Cruise impressions from a variety of blockbuster films (shown below, left). On August 4th, 2007, Ferrante posted footage of himself performing his Tom Cruise impression at a wine sales conference (shown below, right).[1]
On November 17th, 2009, the channel take180com uploaded a video titled "Tom Cruise Auditions for Twilight". The video had gathered over a million views but was since deleted along with the channel due to its company shutdown. In a video posted by Ferrante, we see a screen capture of the original video posted (shown below, left). Several reuploads versions of the comedy skit have since been posted on YouTube (shown below, right).
Television Appearances
Ferrante has made several appearances on various morning television programs, including Australia's Weekend Sunrise and 3 News (shown below).
The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon
On September 27, 2016, Ferrante made an appearance to the show in the segment titled "Audience Suggestion Box" that recreates the iconic You Can't Handle the Truth scene from "A Few Good Men" alongside with a Jack Nicholson impersonator.
TMZ
On January 24th, 2014, TMZ uploaded a video titled "Tom Cruise?", in which Ferrante performs his Tom Cruise impersonation on the street (shown below).
Collaborations
Ferrante has appeared in collaboration videos on a number of notable YouTube channels, including Cracked, The Josh Macuga Show, SamMacaroni, Annoying Orange, Kassem G and Rooster Teeth (shown below). On August 20th, 2010, the Annoying Orange YouTube channel posted a video titled "Annoying Orange – Close Encounters of the Annoying Kind, featuring Ferrante as a Broccoli version of Tom Cruise. The video has currently over 10,000,000 views.
