The Zybourne Clock is an abandoned game project proposed by members of the Something Awful forums. The absurd concept as well as the storyline was mocked incessantly by members of the forum since the idea was posted.
The game revolves arround the concept of time travel, and thus (tries to)explain how time travel works:
“When the object enters the timestream, time begins to correct itself. Let me use this example: Imagine four balls on the edge of a cliff. Say a direct copy of the ball nearest the cliff is sent to the back of the line of balls and takes the place of the first ball. The formerly first ball becomes the second, the second becomes the third, and the fourth falls off the cliff."
Time works the same way.
The entire game was planned to be be completed in less than a year, however only one person on the team had previous game development experience as a professional developer. He was banned from the project for criticizing it.
As the topic became more and more popular, users start posting artworks and fanfictions arround the characters and main concept.
Fallout: New Vegas
As the meme was about to fall into oblivion, Obsidian included a reference of the dead project on the game Fallout: New Vegas. Johnny, ahong with 4 balls and five aces cards on the table can be found on the cliffside overlooking Goodsprings source if the player has the Wild Wasteland trait.
