well… this fellow seems confused about english history… from… what? The 1500s?

I mean freakin' Shakespeare wrote plays encouraging the move from bloody interpersonal combat and revenge to a more human legal system. That was basically the plot A of Romeo and Juliet, with the whole 'tragic love' thing being the plot B that was allowed to happen since the adults were being hard headed asses.
