Tumblr - Some fandoms are getting better while others are getting worse

Tumblr ( and parts of twitter now)have their head's so far up their asses thinking they're all the good guys, they don't realize they're the bad guy at this point.

just because you do something in the name of the LGBTQUWERYIUOPLOLWTFBBW+ community doesn't mean you're the good guy. being an awful human being is just that, no matter who you are and what you stand for.

Eh, sadly shit like this isn't anything terribly new. Yes it may seem worse because social media makes it easier to see when people are being shitty, but even in the past there have been examples of fans and/or fandoms taking shit way too fucking far. At least a few examples off the top of my head:

-Mark David Chapman, the man who killed John Lennon, was actually a big Beatles fan originally, and one of his motivating factors for wanting to kill Lennon was because of Lennon's infamous "I think the Beatles are bigger than Jesus" comments (Chapman apparently became a born again Christian in the 70s), and he also got angry at Lennon for leaving the Beatles as well.

-Bjork had a stalker back in the 90s named Ricardo Lopez who obsessed over her a lot and sent her a lot of fan mail, he eventually became so fixated on Bjork he saw her as someone who should be "only his," and when Bjork began dating Goldie in 1996 Lopez tried to send a bomb to Bjork in the mail in order to kill her and then he killed himself because he believed they'd be together in the afterlife (thankfully the authorities intercepted the bomb)

-Tress MacNeille, the voice of Babs Bunny and various other cartoon characters, had an obsessed fan stalking her back in the 90s and because of this she avoided fan conventions for a good while

-And need we forget the popular singer Selena was killed by the president of her own fan club
