Basically the arrestation rates for weed is extremely race-skewed, where arrests of black people far outnumber the arrests ofwhite people despite more white people owning weed overall.

It's not just that, honestly it's a really fucking petty crime that people just want to use to get people put in prison for free labor, and they're more likely to go after minorities both because of bias and because often minorities can't afford good lawyers who can weasel them out of things like these. Or sometimes it's just that some people can get away with warnings instead of jail time, but either way the use of prisoners as free labor so people are encouraging harsher sentencing is fucking disgusting.
