Steven Universe - 4chan on Steven Universe

I had seen the pilot way back when it first aired but thought this would just be a dumb monster of the week show and when you get to THAT episode and discover theres a shit tone more going on and slowly start to unravel the characters and story.

When you realize theres more going on here than originally let on and slowly the show gets more serious with every major ark recontextualizing past events and the multi layered twists (FFS they forshadow shit in the first few episodes that doesn't come back until the end) That feeling is just so pure and so satisfying.

The Laps episodes made me sit up out of my bed
The episode where Pearl has a break down sent chills down my spine
When Paradot summons yellow diamond and tells her to go fuck her self made me smile ear to ear
When you rewatch old episodes and see how much the characters grow and change.

Its going to take a long time for any other show to give those kinds of goose bumps for me.
