So you're telling me the reason I can remember 100s of different pokemon and not my 10th grade science lessons is potentially minor adjustments to my brain? This is some big news right here!

Isn't that the weird thing called "memory"? Like you just have something that you can easily recall either due to it having an emotional impact on you or just having been exposed to it for a long time? It's fuckin wild, man.
