Whoever had the idea for that pop-up must not know the first rule of internet browsing: the more clicks it takes to get to the content, the less people actually care to view it, and over half of the people browsing a site casually may lose interest after the first click, specially if what gets in the way of content is a shady pop-up that takes the entire screen over. That is one of the many reasons why I stay away from most news sites (besides most of them being shit, that is), and I often wonder if I had put up with it on KYM 4-5 years ago as I do today.
