That's the key word here. This isn't a left-right thing. This isn't a progressives vs bigots thing. This is people with a very specific ideology vs everyone else thing.
I consider myself to be rather socially progressive. I'm pro-legalization, pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pro-trans identity. Basically, if what you're doing isn't hurting anyone, its nobody else's damn business to tell you what to do.
But because I don't think that strong eye contact constitutes rape. Or that I think racism is strictly not ok, even against whites. Or that people have the right to express views that I morally disagree with. Because of these views, I'm literally Hitler according to these people.
And I don't think I'm alone. I think most people, or at least a sizeable portion, generally don't care what other people do with their own lives. Because some people are secure enough with themselves that they don't need the entire world to revolve around them.
I don't think ALL feminism is hate. Wendy McElroy, Camille Paglia, and Christina hoff Sommers all reassure me that there is sanity in the movement.
The thing is, ANYONE can say they are a feminist then start doing stupid shit because of their own beliefs and ideals. I don't think any movement should be so inclusive.
