About

Spider-Man 2 Pizza Delivery Theme is a video game soundtrack that plays during the pizza delivery missions on the console version of the 2004 Spider-Man 2 video game. It inspired a series of remix videos in the mid 2010s.

Origin

On June 28th, 2004,[2] in preparation for the theatrical release of the Spider-Man 2 film, the video game tie-in for the film was released. The game involved Peter Parker, as Spider-Man, traversing through New York City stopping crime, helping citizens in peril, taking pictures for the newspaper "The Daily Bugle" and performing miscellaneous tasks. One of the side missions finds Parker delivering pizzas for his boss, Mr. Aziz. Parker must deliver the pizzas to potential customers, while trying to keep the pizzas intact as Spider-Man. During the missions, an arrangement of Neapolitan song "Funiculì, Funiculà," composed by Luigi Denza in 1880, plays as Spider-Man delivers the pizzas to his customers.

Spread

The Spider-Man 2 Pizza Delivery Theme featured prominently in one of YouTuber ROCKCOCK64's Oh No, Dr. Connors' Class!, in which he played a pizza delivery scene at half speed, posted March 3rd, 2012 (shown below).

The song started becoming fodder for remixes in Spring of 2016. On March 31st, YouTuber Jebediah Lycket posted an ear rape mix that gained over 22,000 views (shown below, left). SiIvaGunner posted a mix that referenced ROCKCOCK64's video on April 30th that gained over 28,000 views (below, right).

Over the course of the year, the theme would appear in dozens more YouTube Poop style videos.[1] One of the most popular was posted by YoutubeBassBooster on October 23rd, which gained over 151,000 views (shown below).

By January of 2017, the song had begun appearing in several different types of remix videos, including Replacement Remixes.
