10 Memes Killed By Their Own Captions
These memes could have been good. They're not anything too exceptional, but if people had let these memes be without completely sabotaging them, they would have been palatable. Unfortunately, someone felt the need to ruin them. We can't say why, but they thought this over-the-top unfunny humor was the better way, and clearly it isn't. These memes are guilty of something known as "comedy homicide."
Comedy homicide occurs when any humor left in the meme was brutally ripped out of it by a passionless creator. Any one of us could have done better, or we simply would have stopped the meme where the joke ends rather than after a dumb reaction image that doesn't really relate to the content of the meme anyway. Take a look at some memes that have been brutally slaughtered by their creators.

Hold Up

Damage

Xavier is a popular excuse to ruin any meme, frequently used by people who have no grasp of what a meme is in the first place.
