The Bronx Rises Up To Tell 'Joker' Fans To Leave Their Stairs Alone

Well, it looks like there is a new tourist attraction in New York City. Following the release of the film Joker earlier this month, fans discovered that the Bronx was the true home of the infamous Joker Stairs and soon Instagram influencers were seen all over 167th Street to take their perfect photo.

However, many Bronx residents are rising up on Twitter to tell tourists to leave their stairs alone. In a segment dedicated to the now popular tourist destination, Bronx locals and comedians Desus & Mero couldn't help but mock the people flocking to their borough, because of all of the dangerous things that have happened to them on the stairs.

Residents demonstrated fear that the movie would now cause the Bronx to become gentrified.

To others, taking a photo on the stairs really didn't make any sense unless they used the hashtag #asthmaattack.

They tryna say 167th stairs is a tourist attraction because of the Joker being filmed there and I am fuckin dead 😭😂😭 Them stairs ain’t nothing but an asthma attack and a swift robbery set up… But you know … Welcome to The South Bronx 😭😂
