Did 'Wilbur Soot' Abuse Twitch Streamer 'Shelby Shubble' By Biting Her? The Viral Speculation Explained

Popular Twitch streamer Shelby Shubble has recently come forward with allegations of physical abuse by an ex-boyfriend, alleging that he would bite her until she bruised every day. While Shubble didn't name any names in her allegations stream, social media sleuths are speculating that streamer and musician Wilbur Soot is the nameless ex-boyfriend she was talking about. But is it true? Here's what we know.

What Are The Allegations By Shelby Shubble?

Shelby Shubble is a Twitch streamer with over 470,000 followers who has collaborated with English content creator, streamer and musician Wilbur Soot on several occasions. On February 21st, 2024, she went live for around 40 minutes to share allegations of physical abuse by an unnamed British ex-boyfriend, explaining how she wants to share them to help others notice patterns of abuse in their own relationships.

Shubble alleges that the ex-boyfriend would bite her on the arms until she was bruised. She thought this was harmless at first and was told it was just something he did, even believing it was a sign of affection. Then, he started "accidentally" biting her too hard. She would tell him not to and he "seemed genuinely sorry" at first, but eventually he started blaming her for having a low pain tolerance or exaggerating. The VOD has since been deleted.

Shubble claims he would do this in front of their friends and that they even implemented a safe word for when he bit her too hard, which he wanted them to do so he could "test the limits" of her pain tolerance. As the relationship carried on, he started biting her legs to hide the bruises better, allegedly knowing it "looked bad" and could be conveyed as abuse. He also started allegedly ignoring their safe word and biting her harder when she'd say it.

Along with the biting allegations, she also claimed he "flaunted" about never prioritizing her over anything that would make him richer and more famous. He allegedly "lived in filth" and had an ant infestation, which he said was common of British homes. He also lead her to believe that he wanted children, wanted to get married and wanted to move to the U.S. to live with her, all of these being things he changed his mind on near the end of their relationship, which Shubble ended after he said he grew to "resent" her.

Is Shelby Shubble's Abuser Wilbur Soot?

While Shubble does not name any names in her video, social media sleuths started looking for evidence of the abuser following the stream. Some now believe that the nameless abuser was Wilbur Soot, using moments from his and Shubble's past content as evidence.

This alleged evidence includes old posts where a friend of Soot's claims he has an ant infestation, claims that he hides the filth in his house when he streams and examples of lyrics from his songs that seem to link to abusive relationships. Arguably, the strongest evidence is clips of other streamers and acquaintances of Soot where they claim he regularly bites people hard and doesn't seem to care if he hurts the people he bites. In one clip, a streamer even claims that he bites her so hard that he leaves bruises.

Coupled with this is the fact that Shubble claimed the abuser was British and living in England, claims that he was "rich and famous" and their prior history of making content together. While this was all speculation at first, Soot admitted fault around a week after the allegations were made.

Did Wilbur Soot Respond to the Allegations?

On February 27th, Wilbur Soot responded to the allegations via an X post. In the post, he admits that Shubble was talking about him in her stream and apologizes to her. He claims that he believed the biting was "playful" and "consensual" and says he has messages that suggest this, but refuses to share them out of respect to her.

He also writes that he became "slobbish" and "selfish" towards the end of their relationship. The apology was initially met with lots of criticism, with some claiming that Soot failed to address important aspects of the allegations, such as refusing to obey the safe word and biting harder when she said it.

Shelby Shubble responded to the post shortly after it was made, refusing to accept Soot's apology and writing, "i could not have imagined what i would wake up to today. my ex pretending he thought i enjoyed being hurt… and all of my friends immediately coming to my defense."
