In the midst of the streaming era, party games have been a popular tool to interact with fans. These types of games are designed to be entertaining and simple enough so that everyone can enjoy their time playing. Some of the biggest games in the past few years have been party games, such as Among Us, Fall Guys, and many others.

One party game in particular has been growing a stable following since it was released in 2020. Here's how Gartic Phone became one of the favorite games played by streamers all over the world.

What Is 'Gartic Phone'?

Gartic Phoneis a free online multiplayer video game developed by Onrizon that combines two popular party games: Pictionary (drawing game) and Telephone (where someone starts with a sentence, and people have to whisper it to each other until it reaches the original person). However, the game adds its own unique features like visual guidance to help everyone follow the rules of the game.

How To Play 'Gartic Phone'

The game works by having the first player propose a sentence, and the next player has to do their best to create a drawing that best represents the first sentence. Gartic Phone's official YouTube channel posted a tutorial video (shown below) on December 8th, 2020, showing a step-by-step guide on how to play the game. The video amassed over 502,000 views and 6,800 likes in three years.

The guessing and drawing game has one of the best formulas for user-generated content, requiring minimal teaching time for newcomers and a great means of facilitating socialization, which are all must-have ingredients for an entertaining streaming session. Not only that, but all the content available in Gartic Phone can also easily be shared, with built-in sharing features (including social links).

On August 29th, 2021, YouTuber and streamer RubberRoss called some pro-animators for a Gartic Phone game session (shown below), which amassed over 2.8 million views and 176,000 likes in two years.
