What Is The 'Little Asian Girl Dancing' Meme?

In June 2023, Spanish TikTokers began using several green screen videos of a little girl dancing as a meme. In the memes, the little girl is edited into a specific setting alongside a caption celebrating something related to that setting. For example, one of the earliest examples reads, "when my boyfriend tells me that after the gym we can go for some hamburgers and do cardio at home," featuring the little girl dancing in a gym to celebrate the promise of burgers.

The videos of the little girl dancing come from TikToker @kmkimii, who also runs the account @lovequan000. They began uploading videos of the little girl dancing to the latter account in 2022 before moving to the former account, which features several videos of the dancing girl with millions of views. Spanish TikTokers clearly loved the girl's enthusiastic dancing and decided to turn it into a meme that's now taking over the platform.

How Is The 'Little Asian Girl Dancing' Used In Memes?

The meme is very easy to use, especially since it was turned into a CapCut template. Essentially, TikTokers are taking a location image, writing a caption about something that is worth celebrating over it, then placing a green screen of the girl dancing (or using the CapCut template) over the image to represent their excitement. Besides that, the dancing has also been used to represent blissful procrastination and laziness.

While the meme first became popular with Spanish TikTokers, it has since become popular with English TikTokers, as well. So, if you can think of a situation that makes you so happy you want to dance and know how to use TikTok, you may be sitting on a potentially viral meme.
