Who Is 'Wifejak' And Where Did She Come From? The Viral Redheaded 'Wojak' Meme Explained
Move over Tradwife, there's a new wifey Wojak in town and she's going viral on X.
The new Wojak, known simply as Wifejak, is meant as a stereotypical representation of "typical wife behavior" and has blown up over the last few days, but her origins date back further than you might think.
Here's what you need to know about the viral red-haired Wojak character and how she's being used in memes and jokes.

What Is The 'Wifejak' Meme?
Back in 2021, Redditor /u/AvaSpelledBackwards made a post to the /r/WojakDrawings subreddit sharing a custom Wojak based on herself. The post flew under the radar for a while, only gaining around 15 upvotes in three years. Then, in July 2022, X user PaulSkallas reposted the image with the caption, "Where are we going this weekend?" This is a phrase any wife guy might be familiar with.
Wifejak inspired several more memes in the same vein over the next few years, solidifying her in the Wojak canon as a representation of the stereotypical wife. The format wouldn't go viral until April 2024, though, when it quickly became one of the most popular memes of the moment on the site.

How Is 'Wifejak' Used In Memes?
Currently, Wifejak is the most popular over on X. The memes are simple: users are posting the image alongside a caption that's meant to represent something the stereotypical wife might say. Some popular examples include the simple sentence, "I'm cold," to the more niche, "I just threw 30 cardboard boxes into the garage." It's wife guy stuff, you might not get it.
