So I heard that the world premiere of Space Dandy happened on Toonami last night (Sure wish my country had Toonami). So did any of you watch it? If so, what did you think of it? It's not everyday that an anime premieres in the west before in Japan (dubbed, for that matter).

I saw it. Saw the teaser in Japanese then watched the first episode in English.

I can't give my opinion on the show right now. I'm too busy calling up NASA so I can get my sides back.

I can say the following however:

Buck Rogers + Cowboy Bebob + MST3K + Hooters = Space Dandy.

Space hooters and giant alien robot crystaline space dinosaur fights

and accidentallying a planet.

everyone died.

Anime of the year.

The best way to describe it is Cowboy Bebop with boob restaurants.

I wasn't really impressed by Space Dandy. Sure, the animation was gorgeous, but a lot of the humor felt really stupid to me, and not in the good ATHF or Sealab2021 way. Who knows? It might get better and I might change my opinion on it later, but I'll have to sit through the next two episodes in order to make a final verdict.

I am in love with this show. It feels like I am watching a parody of cowboy bebop with modern technology gags. The visuals are very colorful that it is downright gorgeous to look at on an HD TV. Also the modern technology gags are amusing such as the Google Galaxy street view, space amazon, space twitter, and space selfies. I am in love with the character Meow because he pretty much embodies these modern technology gags. Overall I am super hyped for this anime and am very excited in terms of where it is going to go.

I still can't get over the empty bag of "Rays".

Once enough of the episodes get dubbed I am going to have to go watch this. This seems to be godly amounts of pure awesome!

Episode 5 was definitely the best episode so far, both funny and heartbreaking. That's the Space Dandy I was hoping for.

Man, those are some sweet moves.
