For a while now, there have been users who are reluctant to create meme entries, giving reasons like, "I suck at research." Then there have been other users who create poor meme entries that go abandoned until another user decides to write a new one on the same subject.

This is the feature that is going to change all of that.

Now, rather than being stuck writing your meme entries yourself, you can assemble of team of 10 users to collaborate on an entry, and everyone gets credit!

In what used to be the "About The Author" section of the page, there are now multiple editors listed per entry.

The Buttons

• View History – View what changes have been made to a meme entry
• View All – lists all members who have edited an entry
• Add – clicking this button brings up a window that will allow you to select up to 9 additional users to grant editing privileges to your meme entry.

So whether you have a tough subject to research, or there's an abandoned entry that you think you could improve, now there's a way for multiple people to add to the same article.

As our regular users begin to take advantage of this feature, I predict that we may even see "research teams" begin to form; teams that specialize in certain areas of expertise. Maybe there will be a YTP team? Maybe a MAD movies team? Maybe an Advice Dog team?

There is also a View History button so that you can see what changes have been made to your entry.

Cleaning up old Confirmed entries

When we first started this site, there was no standard for Confirmed entries. That standard has formed and developed over time, so a LOT of older Confirmed entries are severely lacking in information.

If you spy an older confirmed entry that you would like to volunteer to contribute to, send me a message and I'll add you to that entry's list of editors.

Hm. I do not see the "Add" button on my entries. But when click the "view all" button, the add button comes up. When I click the add button then, I get a blank screen.

When you look at the entry, do you see your icon in the editors box? When you click "edit entry" does it allow you to edit?

Yes, I see my icon in the editors box, but no, it doesn't allow me to edit it… I don't even see the "edit entry" button. I added /edit to the end of the url and it didn't allow me to edit it there either. Also, it says "3 editors" when I only see two.

I noticed the upgrade late last night when I woke up in the middle of the night. I thought it was going to work well by the time I woke up. It seems it doesn't work yet. Can't wait 'til it's fixed so I can help start editing other peoples' articles!

I seriously do not see Real Genius joining the Eastern Asian Team group, sorry. I see him more for the YTP team. I'd be glad to join your team, though. I find I enjoy researching Nico Nico Douga memes the most. If not, I can just join the Youtube or the YTMND teams. Those are pretty fun to research as well.

Yes, I would like to see teams assembled.
For example, if there is a YTP meme, you call in the YTP team. Along with that, other people who wish to help research can do so.

I've been so busy I can barely do anything these days.

@all: I'm on vacation next week so I won't be around in case there are issues with this.

One glaring oversight is that two people can edit the same article at the same time -- if you're doing major changes I'd advise keeping an offline copy in case it gets overwritten. You can also always browse the page history

Soon I'll add it so articles you edit show up on your profiles, etc.

I really doubt there will be abouse.
That's why we need permission first.

On a sidenote, for those who rewrote entries, please have the courtesy to add the original editors. It would be nice.

Our system is wiki-like, but is not a wiki. It's not that we're trying not to be a wiki, but that we've been building a new model out that grows with our needs.
