1) A store. But seriously I don't really know, don't use a video camera for my vids.
2&3) If your not anti-pirate, then I'm sure you can find a torrent for it.

"Sun Microsystems"? You mean your using Solaris?
As for your first question, I would probably get a standard definition(with something this cheap HD doesn't really make a difference) Flip camcorder if money is the deciding factor. Otherwise, I would go a step up and get a DVD or miniDV based camcorder.
It doesn't yet appear there are many video editing solutions for Solaris, though Jahshaka plans to have a Solaris version soon, it will be free. I would also take a look at Blender which can be used for 3d animation and video editing.
