As you're probably already aware, Downfall production company Constantin Films has issued takedown notices for "Hitler Finds Out" videos all across Youtube on the grounds of copyright infringement.Â
Many of these videos use footage from the film in order to satirize other subjects, but when viewed collectively, a parody of Hitler emerges. Through this meme, Hitler becomes a character who is deeply enraged by otherwise mundane topics of day to day life.Â
Elspethjane explains how Constantin's attempted takedown of the Downfall meme has only drawn more attention to it, and in our PSA, Yatta explains how easy Youtube makes it to dispute a wrongful copyright claim.
