They still don't have a working reentry vehicle.
I still contend China would launch a coup if there were any serious indications of a nuclear launch. Better to topple the regime than have a radioactive crater for a neighbor.

While I deeply fear for those who live on the West Coast (seeing how I have family there at the moment), there's one thing I want to say on this.
If North Korea does attempt to launch any type of missile at the United States, they will cease to fucking exist. This is the same type of stuff that's on the same tier as Pearl Harbor and 9/11. If you punch America, America will punch back hard.
which would make sense to a rational country with a rational leader…
which North Korea is not.
Whether or not they would attack the US – they certainly desire to reunite the peninsula, and they are hedging their bets that the US will not get involved…
and they may be right on that front.
Dallas News reports that Republican 2016 campaigns accepted money from Russian oligarchs.
This would be a clear violation of Campaign Finance laws.

Len Blavatnik, considered to be one of the richest men in Great Britain, holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and the U.K. He is known for his business savvy and generous philanthropy, but not without controversy.
Never realized US Citizens were barred from donating to campaigns and Super PACS. The FEC really needs to crack down given how many violations must have occurred in 2016.

And the raid happened last month.
You know what else happened last month?
Trump tried to ban trans-gendered troops from being part of the military, and he talked shit about both his former FBI Director and his current acting FBI Director.
I'm not saying he knew the raid was happening…
In other news, Wisconsin Republican Senator Ron Johnson claims that his colleague, John McCain, voted due to the influence of his brain cancer. Scolded by John McCain's staffers, Sen. Johnson walked the insult back.
My State's Republican Senator, everyone! Ain't he a dick?
Finally, Congressional Staffers went to London seeking Christopher Steele for his role in creating the Steele Dossier. The staffers were sent at the behest of a longstanding aide to California Republican, and chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes. Y'know, the same guy that made up the Susan Rice unmasking story and had to recuse himself from the investigation?
Just wanted a to give you guys a heads-up.
This weekend, "Dear Leader" Donald Trump will be returning to NYC.
Also, Trump told the Secret Service stationed at Trump Tower to vacate the premises. I wouldn't be surprised to see Trump visiting his old "palace".
Also, Donald Trump has a known history of destroying documents against court orders.
Keep an eye on what happens there. ;)
Okay, so get this:
Donald Trump signs Sanctions Bill into law, impacting Russia, North Korea, and Iran.
Putin retaliates by expelling diplomats from embassies in Russia.
Trump bends over and says "Thank you, sir! May I have another?"
Because that's basically what happened this afternoon.
How is this bad exactly? I mean Trump hurt those big bad Russians people keep talking about.
Markets Dive Again After Trump Doubles Down on North Korea ‘Fire and Fury’ Threat
Thanks Trump, I'm losing a lot of money now. Great effect you've had on the economy.
Trump (and technically north korea) have now officially personally negatively impacted me.

And Trump's response is to thank the guy that is holding his leash?
Fuck off. Enough with the unpatriotic sycophants.
Next, you're going to tell me that he was joking, and that this was part of his "brilliant 48-dimensional chess" strategy against the left.

How did he thank him? By putting sanctions on his whole country?
And don't assume everyone who supported or continues to support Trumps are "unpatriotic traitors." A lot of people support him because he's the only hope they have for things to get better in their situations. And I don't mean the fat cats that control major companies, I mean people who live in the rustbelt states who depend on industries like coal and automation. Industries that Trump specifically stated he would try to help. And try is a lot more than what others have been doing.
And I should know this, because I live in a city that's basically devolved into a fucking ghetto because of all those industries disappearing.

I don't think you understand what I said.
He thanked Putin for expelling 755 personnel from our embassy.
If that ain't a cuck, I don't know what is.
Meanwhile, Mueller's work continues, and they're closing in on "Paulie Walnuts" Paul Manafort.
Cuck? I thought it was an attempted swipe at congress; "your pissing off putin helped me downsize".

No, he's capitulating to a kleptocratic dictator as though Putin has something really bad on Trump.
Why else did he threaten Robert Mueller to not look at his finances?
We might be getting into some dark stuff with this investigation…prepare yourselves…

It's time to stop. It was funny at first, but now it's just annoying, stop embarrassing yourself. He didn't do anything to improve relations with Russia. On the contrary, American foreign policy seems even more aggressive now than it was under Obama.

Which is why the President fought to weaken the sanctions bill he reluctantly signed, only because it also sanctioned North Korea and Iran.
Do you honestly think the President's attitude 2 days ago is one of "aggression"? Or will you be one of those people that said he was being "sarcastic"?
By the way, those diplomats are still employed. We're not cutting costs by having them reassigned elsewhere. Maybe they can take up those vacant spots in East Asia we desperately need right now.

What I don't understand is if Trump was really this puppet of Russia, why wouldn't he be more outwardly lenient towards them? Like if he was legitimately a puppet I feel like he would've completely veto'd the bill regardless of what it did.

You think he wouldn't have been aware the press coverage if he did veto the bill?
He may be compromised and emotionally unstable, but he's no idiot when it comes to publicity.
Remember, this is a guy that warped the tabloids around himself in the 90's.

I'm pretty sure everyone would have just moved on if Trump didn't, a day after begrudgingly saying Nazis are bad, go 'but actually…'
Other news: anyone feel that everyone is missing the point of the alt-left thing? It was said, it was stupid, so everyone came up with meme caption pictures to make fun of the phrase. Alt-right is a thing because people use that term to identify themselves. I guess fuck it, there's an alt everything. Burritos are alt-sandwiches. Sunflowers are alt-trees. Hey, can those horseshoe-theory worshipping appeal to moderation clowns be the alt-center?

Everything to the left of the alt-right is considered "leftist Marxist SJW scum".
Steve Bannon has resigned from the White House.
I suspect this puts any reelection hopes in serious doubt. The one group that could be counted on to vote for Trump in any potential primary was the populist and far right factions of the Republican Party. With Bannon's departure, it'll likely be a signal to those groups, whether intentional or unintentional, that he's shifting away from them and trying to embrace more typical Republican pillars (globalism, pro-corporate trade policies, etc.) in an effort to get the moderate factions on board.
And I doubt the moderate factions are willing to play ball.

I really look at the whole thing as being an old guard vs new guard battle that happens every few decades. Remember Goldwater? He was vilified as a dangerous, mentally unstable person who would lead the US to nuclear Armageddon who was brought to the ticket by a fierce right-wing faction of the Republican Party that alienated the moderates (sound a little familiar?).
A decade later, that faction became the foundation for the Reagan Revolution that ushered in the modern political world and Republican Party. I wouldn't be surprised at all if most of the non-crazy alt-right people eventually become the foundation for a new populist-aligned Republican Party in a decade.

California Rebpulican and suspected Russian shill Dana Rohrabacher met with Julian Assange at London’s Ecuadorian Embassy yesterday.
I'm I the only one who loves the about face everyone made on Wikileaks and Assange? He went from being a hero to the left for exposing the NSA and other dirty secrets and being a dangerous security threat who cost the US lives and intelligence to the right; to being a Russian shill who wants to destabilize the US to the left and being a heroic purveyor of information to the right.
It's really a near perfect example of the cognitive dissidence people have when it comes to politics and people supporting others political beliefs.
Well, that and a perfect (and really depressing) example that propaganda actually works. But I've stuck with Wikileaks both times, and will continue to stick there because usually the ones deigning him an enemy are being extremely unpleasant about it and carry it about in rather suspicious fashions.
"He went from being a hero to the left for exposing the NSA and other dirty secrets and being a dangerous security threat who cost the US lives and intelligence to the right; to being a Russian shill who wants to destabilize the US to the left and being a heroic purveyor of information to the right."
And who do you think benefits from either case?
The expose of the NSA (while necessary for our democracy) has led to severe distrust of the intelligence apparatus, further weakening the US internally. The expose of Hillary Clinton's emails severely impacted her campaign, and created massive position changing in US election.
It is very noble to use information for truth. Truth, however, can be a weapon, especially if it's used properly.
Wikileaks may be noble in it's endeavor to push forward truth. But who it targets that is key.
Frankly. Wikileaks is an information weapon used by the Russians. Why is this? Because Assange realizes that the difference between exposing the truth on Russians or Americans, is that you expose the Russians, you suddenly commit suicide with 5 bullet holes in your back.

Aaaand he's already back working at Breitbart, threatening to oust the "globalists" still in the White House on behalf of Trump.
And even Bannon leaving the White House won't solve the problem coming from the POTUS himself.
xTSGx – "It’s really a near perfect example of the cognitive dissidence people have when it comes to politics and people supporting others political beliefs."
It really is a perfect example. I fooled myself into believing that stealing secrets was ok because it hurt "W" but just in that one case.
But then I flipped, like, overnight.
Whahappend?
Well, now it's my side getting stole on, that's whahappened.

Stealing intel is bad.
There never is "just this one time". Once you open the door to that, it becomes a thing that happens from that point.
But more to the point, put the shoe on the other foot before you decide if things are ok.
President Trump and Senate Majority Leader's rifts are deeper than previously thought.
Interestingly, this includes information that Trump wanted McConnell to protect him from investigations into his ties to Russia.
If the firing of James Comey is anything to go on, this is no mere coincidence. How many instances of obstructing justice does that make? Three?
At his Phoenix Rally, Donald Trump threatened a government shutdown if he didn't get funding for his southern border wall. Y'know, like a petulant child throwing a tantrum over not getting dessert before supper.

And Trump is just as obsessed with Russia as the "lefty scumbags" his supporters critique.
What do you guys think? Guilty conscience?
