An interesting test from some people who apparently are begging for more data, especially from younger people. It doesn't take long to finish, and it gives you an estimate of how many words you know. My score was 33,600 but don't expect similar results: I'm in my late 30s, college educated, and an avid crossword solver.

24,100. 300 points below average. I'm okay with this, after all, I spent the first four years of my life talking in Spanish.

I swear it sounded like some of those words were just made up.

If you're using Chrome, try switching to a different browser.
I got 21,800 on my second try, still below average but it's better.

Some of these words are just pointless. Seriously? Tricorn?
That's a hat from the 18th century. Nobody's going to know that unless you're absorbing words for kicks or just happen to come across it at some point.
I got 34,800 words.

By the way, I checked, the highest score possible is 45000. Foehammer, your score is pretty much impossible. Probably. As far as I can tell, the only question on the 3rd page that matters is the 1st one.

I probably would have scored higher if my school would have encouraged me to learn more words. I remember back in middle school, people got pissed at me for using an expansive vocabulary and I eventually got forced out of the habit.

20,200

Aaaaaaand, that's why they created the thesaurus and dictionary….

Idea: They should make one for how good your internet vocab is. Yeah, we will all be so smart!

A popular type of hat in the 18th century. Yes, that is one definition for the word tricorn.
