Who is up for a classic X vs X thread? in this case a space marine from warhammer 40k vs the super hero iron man

we are talking about a single standard ultramarine vs tony in his standard iron man armor (or any of his power suits that you find fit if you don't believe he stand a chance in his standard suit)

just them no one else on a fair battlefield
who beats who? and how

Iron Man, because Space Marines can't fly, he has WAY more armour, he has rockets, machine guns, lasers, etc, and overall the original Iron man movie game was probably the coolest superhero related game that I've played while Colonial Marines sucked.

sound like you haven't spent much time reading on space marines

what about the chance that iron man run out of "gas"? or that the standard space marine carry a gun that fire mini missiles

Can't we all just get along?

i just seek the answer to my question

and simply pointing out all the "ups" is not an answer (or in this case not an answer that is useful)
i do not want a fan war or a "my-daddy-can-beat-your-daddy" type of thread

please if you believe iron man can win do tell how by compareing his skills or weapons,
what if the space marine get the upper hand can he still win? what is the person you supports flaws or weakness? will this cripple them against the other

That's a good point, but his Arc Reactor is pretty much prepetual energy. As long as he doesn't overexert his suit, he'll never run out of gas. And, his suit has withstanded missiles before. I think he even survived a Nuke that the Crimson Dynamo shot at him once.

hmm true
but he is still a human and unlike a space marine who have 100 of years of combat training (or something like that), a suit that morph with his organs until the power armor actually becomes his "body" in a sense, armed with a bolter which is basicly a semi-auto rifle that fire missiles (sometimes other weapons like a plasma gun or a heavy bolter)

in short
iron man = human without any militray training (that i know of) in a powerful suit with lasers and up to date tech special made by himself

space marine = so stupidly op you should read it yourself
space marine wiki

also i can't help but notice how iron man take a great deal of damage in almost every battle
if it isn't the suit that break then it's him

i don't think so

If you keep telling people they're wrong or ask them why they think Ironman would win and not a space marine then you defeat the purpose of this thread of opinions.
Man, if you're going to be bias on space marines, then don't bother making a versus thread where people opinions differs from yours.

Don't need to write an essay on why I think a rich drunker can beat super soldier.

Iron Man would win, but just barely.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Marines_(Warhammer_40,000)
The "Implants" section of the link above shows biological enhancements to even the most basic marines that would make them very tough, even without their suits. With their suits one, they would be even harder to kill. Their suits are supposedly able to withstand in a variety of harsh environments, like Iron man, so they would both be able to survive in freezing, boiling, or low-oxygen environments.
That means that with basic Ultramarine Armor and the biological enhancements, they would be relatively difficult to kill.
Unfortunately, most of the stuff I've seen doesn't actually have Ultramarines doing anything or fighting, and the wikias don't list their weapons, so I have no idea what their standard weapons are, or how many they can carry at once.
In that case, I assigned basic but powerful weapons to an Ultramarine:
A Chainsword http://spacemarine.wikia.com/wiki/Heavy_Bolter_(Space_Marine)
A Bolt Pistol http://spacemarine.wikia.com/wiki/Bolt_Pistol_(Space_Marine)
And A Heavy Bolter http://spacemarine.wikia.com/wiki/Heavy_Bolter_(Space_Marine)
The downsides to the weapons are that some weapons reportedly jam for no reason, and require constant maintenance and "ancient litanies to appease their spirits". Iron Man doesn't need to pray for his guns to work.

Now we take a look at Iron Man. Unlike Ultramarines, he has a little more substantial information, with identifiable evidence of his weapons and abilities. In his most basic, fully functional suit suit fro the first movie, he has super-sonic flight, tank-busting missiles, auto-targeting systems guided by a super-intelligent on-board AI, adaptabiliy to low/zero--oxygen environment, and most importantly, the arc-reactor that fuels his repulsor tech. His hand-mounted repulsors can, as seen in the movies, send people flying through walls. His chest-mounted repulsor can supposedly blast through solid metal, which could possibly (but not likely) kill an ultramarine at point-blank range. In addition, he is repeatedly seen being shot at with high-powered weapons, even sustaining a direct hit mid-flight from a tank's fire, but is still able to survive and reduce the tank to rubble with one small arm-mounted missile the size of a banana.

In the end, all their technological and biological abilities would, for the most part, balance out. Iron Man's only true advantage is his efficiency and mobility. He has a near-unlimited power source, his super-intelligent AI would help with avoiding certain attacks, his super-sonic flight speed and maneuverability would also help, and his significantly smaller size would make him a much harder target to hit than Ultramarines, who, with their massive suits and biological enhancements, would be a minimum of 8 feet tall. And even then, it would be a pretty close call.

I don't want to type this much ever again.

i see what you mean

but all i want is just a little more info
simply saying he wins because he can do that and that without even taking a look at the other is not really useful

this is what i was looking for

stating a good point for why and how

I'm leaning towards Space Marine. There's just a level of brute weight involved. The Iron Man suit has a far more efficient design, a highly-advanced independent AI (Something nothing in 40k has), and lasers, but the Space Marine is over the top (as designed). What amount to a modern automatic Cannon is the standard issue for a Marine, along with a suit of Armor fit to take on the claws, teeth, and giant ass guns of a galaxy's worth of aliens, which also transfers almost no heat at all, biological enhancements including a super-efficient metabolism, two hearts, a third lung, an acid gland, sweat glands that can create a vacuum resistant membrane, perfect nightvision, the removal of needing sleep, at least three times normal muscle mass, and that's not including the Chapter related traits (Black Rage cough). Mount that on a fellow with more zeal than Malcom X and war experience of about 300~ years, and Tony is just outclassed.

But that's only Vs. in a fight. A decent question would be about quality and quantity of each.

Easily a space marine. They're pretty much indestructible mary sues, and the only ones that can compete with their stupid overpoweredness would be something else from the 40k universe.

SPHESS MAHREENS AR CLERILEE MOR POWERFUL THAN DIS IRON MAHN . FOR WE ARE TEH EMPERORS CHOZEHN. WE SHALL DECEND UPPON OUR FOE WITH SIMULTANIOUS, AND DEVASTATING DEEP STRIKES.TEH CODEX ASTARTEZ NAEMS DIS MENUVAH STEHL REIN. WE SHAL DESCEND UPON OUR FOE.
