I really enjoyed Mark of the Ninja. It's an absolutely fantastic stealth game which I feel does reward you whatever your play style. You can get upgrades by sneaking passed guards unnoticed or brutally assassinate everyone in your path. The art style and cutscenes are also really great.

Does it have to be a browser game? If not…

Honestly, I've never had more fun on the go with any other game. It's addictive, it's hilarious, it's fast-paced, and you've got shitloads of references and nods to other media. Not necessarily for anything story, just an easy way to pass the time.

Journey.
This is hands down the best game I have ever ever EVER played, ever ever no game not ever can ever come close to it.
It's not free, but it's the best 15 bucks I've ever spent.
It's not infinite like minecraft and similar games, but its visual aesthetic and musical score are unparalleled.
With the exception of Pokemon: Rescue Team, it is the only game that has made me cry.

Ugh, I figured someone might post this. I tried playing this game, and it was okay, but you need to make micro transactions for EVERYTHING. Don't like the suit you picked at the start? Too bad, give us money or you're stuck with it. Want a better gun? Then cough up some cash, buster, because the ones you can get with free currency suck. Bottom line, WarFrame is the pinnacle of micro transaction hell and you'd be wise to avoid it.

VGPerson's translations – a collection of horror-themed RPGMaker games and a few Touhou fangames. Of the horror games, I recommend Ib and Mad Father.

Runner-up: Treasure Adventure Game is a really good platformer.

And one more: Lemmings is a classic puzzle game that was not originally a free game, but it apparently is now. You'll need DosBox to run it, but it's worth it just to nuke the little bastards.

I really like this game, imagine Magicka if it was remade into a 2D Dungeon Crawler with more content. The main idea is that threw the levels you play threw you collect different elements which each have different effects that can be applied to your spell, wand, or robe. I mainly find it fun to just combine spells and find over-powered attacks to use while doing quests.

BLOCKSUM.

I absolutely love this game to death.
Basically, kind of like Tetris Attack, only instead of moving the blocks, you're adding them together.

Here's part of where the fun comes in:
In order to clear the blocks and earn points, you have to have the amount of blocks with that same number displayed on the block next to each other.
(So, to clear off a 4 block, you would need 3 other blocks with 4 on them.)

Clever arcade game – wish I saw it in actual arcades. At least maybe then it'd be popular.
