I have… lost my ability to even.
But really, she thinks she can live up to Jesus Christ Superstar? BRING IT
I get the feeling there's going to be an extremely uncomfortable "Hit Me Baby One More Time" sequence when Jesus is being lashed at.
Also, if this is really happening, I can't wait for Springtime For Hitler to go on Broadway.

I got my Jewish friend the DVD copy of that for his birthday/Christmas/Hanukkah. I like how Britney picked something that is very out of style…something even more out of style than her (well, actually no it isn't, it's just been out longer than her).

Meth: Not even once.
Is Spears even going to be involved in this? It sounds like they are just using her music, not the singer herself, with or without consent. If so, I wonder what Britney has to say about it?
I don't know if this counts as heretical. Christianity doesn't seem too fussed about how the gospel is preached so long as it is. Reactions to it will probably be mixed. I know many Christians found Britney too outrageous for their tastes and will likely scoff at this as ridiculous and nonsensical. They'll see it as something for the liberals and leave it at that. Other Christians may use the opportunity to help broadcast the faith to younger audiences*. But overall, don't expect uproar.
(*And really, this sounds just like one of those attempts. The church is really trying harder and harder to appeal to youth, going to pretty desperate measures to catch their attention. Even if it means looking for ways to make a Spears song sound like it actually carries some religious context. On the other hand kudos to the artists for managing to apply a Spears song to religious context. That must have been hard to choreograph)
But at the end of the day, this event will have a very tough road ahead of itself and I'll be impressed if it makes it huge. Because when it comes to celebrity religion endorsements: Mel Gibson set the bar pretty high.

The church near my house hands a DVD of this free with every bible or even if you join the church (must've had a lot)
